The function of the plasmid is to provide bacteria with genetic advantages such as antibiotic resistance. In this lab, the plasmids provided the ampicillin resistance and the fluorescence. If the bacterial cells are grown in the presence of the antibiotic ampicillin then only the cells that took up the plasmid have the resistance gene. Microorganisms are organisms which can mostly be seen by a microscope but sometimes they can also be seen by naked eye as the live in big groups as they double after eating food. They are found everywhere in the world, they are in us, in plants, in animals, in chemicals, in factories. These identities are not only important in knowing what agent causes various diseases and the treatment to be used, but also in understanding how microbes can be beneficial and valuable to the human body and life as a whole. With that being said, upon beginning this lab, the purpose of this study was to identity and investigate an unknown microorganism by applying the methods that were previously learned and practiced. Numerous attempts have been made to isolate, identify and apply effective antagonistic microorganisms to manage RKN, nevertheless the use of nematicides is proved far more effective than biocontrol agents.
